Reinventing Performance Management. Great post by Marcus Buckingham and Ashley Goodall on hbr.org
Deloitte, a Herculean fan for ages, is redesigning their performance management system. Like many other companies, they realize that the current process for evaluating the work of their people—and then training them, promoting them, and paying them accordingly—is increasingly out of step with their objectives.

What might surprise you, however, is what they include in Deloitte’s new system and what we won’t. It will have no cascading objectives, no once-a-year reviews, and no 360-degree-feedback tools.
