Pink Ladies Turn Out In Their Hundreds To Raise Awareness For Breast Cancer

The first ever Pink Ladies Games in the Middle East saw over 230 women battle it out at Fairmont, The Palm whilst raising breast cancer awareness and money in partnership with Pink Caravan UAE breast cancer initiative.

Over 40 teams from across Dubai took part in the games for women by women and all of them tested their strength, endurance and fitness at the specially designed challenges. The challenges were created to unite cultures in a fun and active manner and included: the Land Rover Tyre change, Paddle Boarding races in the sea, the Waiter’s Race, followed by a Fitness First Tug of War and the Eliminator Nail Breaker. All teams warmed up with a Zumba dance hosted by Fitness First.

Launched by Promoseven Sports Marketing and Hercules Trophy, Inge Van Belle, Co-Founder of Hercules Trophy said: “Seeing so many women here today having fun and enjoying themselves is testament of the success of the first ever Pink Ladies Games here in Dubai. Thanks must go to everyone that has been involved in the build-up and in particular the support of the Dubai Sports Council and Pink Caravan.”

Pink Ladies Turn Out In Their Hundreds. The ladies only games concept originated from Europe and has been running in five cities for over 1,000 women before launching in Dubai today.  This exciting new concept in Dubai is in partnership with Pink Caravan UAE breast cancer initiative and is dedicated to raising money for breast cancer and supported by the Dubai Sports Council and Emirates Red Crescent.

Pamela Lovett from Zeta Phi Beta Sorority took part in today’s event and said: “We had such a great time, the event was fabulous, a great cause and it’s a fantastic venue here at the Fairmont, The Palm. Everything was very well organised, lots of energy and we would definitely like to come back next year.”

Participants and their friends and family enjoyed the music from local DJ who made sure everyone was ready to battle it out on the beach, in the pool and on the paddle boards in the sea. The games were followed by a delicious breakfast by the pool as the awards and prizes were given for first, second and third place as well as best dressed team, best sportsmanship and the most special lady.

In addition, a number of women made use of the free examination facilities at hand from Pink Caravan UAE breast cancer initiative.
