Pink Ladies Games – How it all started

By:

Pink Ladies Games – How it all started. Recently, I’m getting quite some questions on how we came up with the idea of the Pink Ladies Games and why I wanted to do this so badly. Here’s a brief history of how it started.

As the co-founder of the corporate challenge Hercules Trophy, I had the idea to create that same special vibe from our events, based on camaraderie, gamification and sports. But this time, I wanted to do something that was reserved exclusively for women. After several years of entrepreneurship and turning forty, I felt the need to do more than just earning money. I wanted to leave a legacy behind. I thought: “A strong woman stands up for herself. A stronger woman stands up for everybody else.”

That’s why, in 2016, I started the Pink Ladies Games as an event for active women who care. Inclusion has been a key element since the very beginning. I didn’t want to organise an event that promoted competition, or a sports event that mainly focused on winners. On the contrary, the concept was to unite women, regardless of their cultural background, age, talent or skills. Teams of 3 to 5 ladies battle against each other in 6 fun challenges that require creativity, teamwork and a lot of humor. All participants feel like winners and feel part of something bigger than themselves.

The aim of Pink Ladies Games is to give every woman the chance to join and to celebrate the power of women when we unite. In every country, we support charity projects related to typical female issues. That’s what we mean when we say: “Pink is an attitude”: Women supporting each other and elevating each other to the next level. That’s also why I wanted to promote the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 5 on Gender Equality. My dream is to take this further to countries where women need this kind of empowerment and continue to build this tribe. Are you with me?
